Q: How much service will I receive?
A: The amount and time of service is up to the client. Care is available 24 hours daily, seven days a week, hourly, over-night, or live-in basis. Schedules  revolves around our client's needs. We have a three hour minimum per shift for hourly services.However,on a case by case basis, we do take special needs into consideration.

Q: How do caregivers get paid?
A: Acclaim Home Care takes care of the caregiver's wages. Our agency assumes responsibility for social security and other pertinent deductions. All caregivers receive 1099's  and are responsible for filing their own taxes.

Q: Do you accept insurance?
A:  Acclaim Home Care can bill insurance companies directly by special  arrangement. Our services are often reimbursable by many Long Term Insurance policies. Clients may choose to pay invoices directly and seek reimbursement from their insurance company. We also deal with state insurance agencies such as Workmen Compensation Insurance Company.    

Q: What happens if I have an emergency?
A: Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am- 5:00 pm. Normally, our caregivers trained to dial 911 in an emergency. If we can not be reached at the office during normal business hours, or after hours, we have a staff member who is always on call, and can be reached 24 hours a day, seven days a week.   

Q: How do clients handle complaints?
A: Comments, suggestions, and/or complaints are handled with utmost confidentiality and can be posted at (postoffice@marincommunityhealth.com) If you do not have e-mail, you may call us at our business number (415-479-5125). We check the email daily, and we will get back to you within 24 hours.

Q: Is homecare less expensive than a nursing home?
A: Our rates vary from $19.00 to $25.00 an hour, depending on the type of services needed. We can customize care plans based on specific individual needs. The typical monthly cost of nursing homes in the San Francisco Bay Area ranges from $5700.00 to $9420.00 or more while live-in homecare starts from as low as $6300.00 a month depending on the complexity of care.

Q: What if I am not a senior citizen and still need care?
A: We also provide homecare services to children and adults, working closely with the family to provide the best care available.

Q: How do I know that I am getting a good caregiver?
A: We conduct interviews and exams individually for each potential caregiver. We independently check  licenses and work references. We also conduct stringent background checks through Fingerprinting or Live Scan services. Acclaim Home Care also requires that caregivers have a yearly  TB test performed. The caregiver  will not be placed with the client unless the client has explicitly approved the employment of the caregiver. In addition, we are committed to replacing the caregiver within  24 hours notice should the client decide to change their caregiver for good reason.

Q: How do I make payments to your company?
A: Our office sends  invoices on a weekly basis. We can also bill on a bi-weekly or monthly basis, dependent on what the client prefers. We receive payment by check or cash. We also accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.
